Body Image & Confidence

Hello everyone! How is your Saturday going so far? I'm being paid to dog and house sit for an old next door neighbour. I am using the time with the dog to catch up on lots of work and have a quiet weekend to sort my head out!

This week I want to talk about body image and confidence. This is something that I’ve spoken and written about quite a lot as I regularly choose to talk about body image in my degree assignments.

I remember going through that horrible self-conscious, I’m not good enough, I wish I looked like *insert name here* and I know exactly what that is like. At my age, I am perfectly happy and comfortable in my skin and I am so happy with my body image and have no trouble with my confidence.

However, I know there are some people who aren’t happy with their body image and I know what a horrible thing that can be. It is completely overwhelming, it is the only thing you think about and some people even go as far as self-harm which is just horrible and makes me so upset :(

There is no easy fix for this, me sitting here telling you to love yourself and be happy with yourself isn’t going to fix people with body image and confidence issues. It is all about being happy, healthy and comfortable. None of us are perfect, and I’m sure that even Megan Fox has days when she is feeling a bit fat or crap or ugly, we just don’t see it.
You look like you do for a reason and we all look different because it is fun and exciting and it makes you unique and, no matter how cheesy it sounds, it makes you, you! And no matter how you are feeling, you are not alone. Everyone goes through image and identity problems so just talk about it. It always feels awesome to get it off your chest.

There is nothing more rare, nor more beautiful, than a woman being unapologetically herself; comfortable in her perfect imperfection.
