My Seven Commandments of Great Skin

Taking care of our skin is so important. When summer is here, it can be even more important, because of the heat of the sun. We don’t want to have dehydrated and wrinkled skin. So follow my commandments to ensure you have some great looking skin.

Keep Your Skin Clean All the Time
It is so important to keep your skin clean. The best way to make sure that it is clean is to wash your face first thing in the morning and last things at night. Using a cleanser will make sure that the dirt and grime comes off your face. If it is a hot day, or you have been at the gym, it is a good idea to cleanse your face during the day too.

Don’t be Tempted to Pop Your Spots
It can be the worst thing in the world when you get a large pimple. You need to avoid the temptation to pop your spots, though. Quite often it can make the spot worse if you don’t get all of the gunk out. It means having your fingers applying pressure on your face that can lead to more spots. You can get scarring too, so just easier to not do it in the first place.

Drink Lots of Water
Water is key to having clear skin. It can flush toxins from your body, meaning a clear out for your face. It helps to get rid of the dark circles around your eyes too.

Use a Sunscreen
Using a sunscreen is so important. Sun damage is irreversible and can cause a lot of damage. It can change the appearance of your skin, as well as dehydrate it. Look for a foundation or concealer that has an SPF added to it. Then you don’t have to even think about it.

Use a Shaving Cream
If you are shaving your legs or your face, a shaving cream or balm is a must. It can help to smoothly run the razor over your skin, avoiding a rash. It can also moisturise your skin as you go. If you are a bit fed up of shaving, you could consider laser hair removal. This is available all over the country but if you are in London, you could look into a clinic like Dr Leah’s.

Moisturise Your Skin
Drinking water hydrates your skin from the outside in. Sometimes you need to be able to hydrate your skin from the outside in. The best way to do this is by using a moisturiser. Hydrated skin will mean fewer wrinkles and fine lines. It will also mean less scarring from pimples and spots too.

Remove Your Makeup
It can be easy just to fall into bed after a late night. Leaving your makeup on can clog up your pores and even make things like your eyelashes fall out! Don’t give in to your bed and remove your makeup before bed, every night.
